D. Diorio has been published on Hot Chalks Lesson Page, Brooklyn Parent’s Magazine and her art lessons have
appeared on Kinderarts.com and Artsonia. A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and
Illustrators and international honor society in education, Kappa Delta Pi, Ms. Diorio has presented her writing through the
Pen & Brush Club, All Arts Matters, and Snug Harbor Cultural Center in New York. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous
anthologies and has been accepted for regional program, Story Time Live.
Ms. Diorio was awarded Bachelors degrees in English and Fine Arts with honors from the College of Staten Island, a Masters
Degree in Art and Art Education from Columbia University, certificate through The Institute of Children’s Literature,
and an honorable mention in the Edward J. Rheberg poetry award. An artist and art teacher of many years, Ms. Diorio has created
numerous public arts projects for which she has received several awards from such sources as the New York State Council on
the Arts, The Center for Arts Education, and The Department of Cultural Affairs. She also coordinates library art workshops
and a local writer’s opportunity where she resides and teaches art in the Catskills region of New York.
